The Spring/Summer 2016 Collection of Chiara Boni La Petite Robe is a tribute to the fairy gardens of the designer’s childhood. Personal memories, tinged with nostalgia are translated into a modern and feminine narrative. Nature’s soft yet intense shades of spring define the color palette, from raspberry to peach, embellishing the rose and oriental blossom prints. The 92 days of spring are at the heart of the collection inspiration, as interpreted by the song ’92 days’ especially composed by musician Yakamoto Kotzuga. A touch of sweet femininity guides the collection: printed tulle and georgette, embroideries, soft peplums, puffed sleeves, are seen throughout. Cutouts reveal an unexpected sensuality. A contrast of volumes and proportions continues in black and white with geometric ‘palazzo’ pants and asymmetrical peplum tops. Classic pieces, such as capes, resurface in captivating colors for a note of romance. For evening, deep heart-shaped necklines open into mermaid silhouettes, and embellished flowing trains. A hint of slim trousers and elegant one-piece swimsuits appear under fluid long dresses. The music, like the collection is “inspired by the suggestions and the images coming from Chiara Boni’s ideas: dreamlike, refined, almost fairy atmospheres, which follow the sinuous shapes of the feminine body without losing sight of the electronic, contemporary mood”, says Kotzuga. Chiara Boni La Petite Robe’s signature jersey fabric is used throughout, for a collection designed for the cosmopolitan woman. The scent of spring is in the air.
